END OF LEASE CLEANING CHECKLIST

Bathroom Cleaning  Checklist

1) Walls and Ceiling

  • Wipe down walls and ceiling to remove any dust, cobwebs, and marks.

  • Scrub any mould or mildew spots with appropriate product.

​

2) Light Fixtures

  • Dust and clean all light fixtures.

  • Notify client of any burn out lights.

​

3) Vents and Exhaust Fans

  • Dust and clean the covers of vents and exhaust fans.

  • If able to access the fan blades to clean then also do so.

​

4) Mirrors

  • Dust down any mirrors to get them ready for cleaning.

  • Apply glass cleaner product and clean down with matching clean microfibre cloth.

  • Wipe down with additional fresh microfibre cloth to remove any streaks or smudges.

​

5) Cabinets and Drawers

  • Empty and dust down inside and outside of all cabinets and drawers.

  • Clean handles and knobs.

  • Spray and wipe with appropriate product and matching microfibre cloth.

​

6) Countertops

  • Wipe down all surfaces

  • Clean and disinfect countertops with matching microfibre cloth.

​

7) Sinks

  • Scrub the sink to remove any stains, soap scum, and toothpaste residue.

  • Clean and polish faucets and handles with matching cloth and product.

​

8) Toilets

  • Thoroughly clean inside the bowl, under the rim, and the exterior of the toilet.

  • Clean the toilet seat and lid.

  • Ensure all used cloths are placed into the "disposal bag" 

  • Apply hospital grade toilet gel, scrub, let sit for 10 mins then flush.

  • Scrub around the base of the toilet tiles and silicone.

9) Shower and Bathtubs

  • Remove soap scum, mould, and mildew from the tub/shower.

  • Clean and/or vacuum shower doors, tracks, or curtains.

  • Clean and polish showerhead, faucets, and handles (including where cant be seen).

  • Clean and scrub tiles and grout lines.

​

10) Tiles and Grout

  • Vacuum whole area including hard to reach/see places.

  • Scrub tiles to remove any build up of dirt or soap scum.

  • Clean and whiten grout lines.

​

11) Floor

  • Sweep/Vacuum and mop the floor.

  • Ensure grout lines have been scrubbed if tiled.

  • Ensure of no leftover build up around baseboards.

​

12) Windows

  • Wipe down windows inside and out if able to.

  • Apply appropriate window cleaner and wipe down with matching microfibre cloth.

  • Vacuum/Wipe all window sills and tracks.

  • Clean any blinds or curtains with either matching duster or wipe.

​

13) Doors

  • Wipe down both sides of the door to ensure no sitting dirt or dust.

  • Apply appropriate cleaner and wipe with matching microfibre cloth.

  • Clean both door handles with disinfectant and polish if needed.

​

14) Towel Racks and Holders

  • Clean or wipe down all towel racks and toilet paper holders.

  • Disinfect and or polish with matching product and cloths.

​

15) Soap Dishes and Holders

  • Clean any soap dishes near sink or in shower to remove any residue.

​

16) Outlets and PowerPoints

  • Carefully dust and wipe down any outlets ensuring they are left in the "off" position.

​

17) Garbage bins

  • If any left over or built in garbage bins require emptying do so.

​

18) Left Behind Items

  • If you find any left behind items, take photos and email or text the property manager or client on what they wish to do with them, outside of junk that has been left.

​

19) Final Touches

  • Good old air freshener, apply to ensure the bathroom smells fresh and clean.

Kitchen Cleaning  Checklist

1) Walls and Ceiling

  • Wipe down walls and ceiling to remove any dust, grease and any marks.

  • Scrub any mould or mildew spots especially near the sink and stove with appropriate product.

​

2) Light Fixtures

  • Dust and clean all light fixtures.

  • Notify client of any burn out lights.

​

3) Vents and Exhaust Fans

  • Dust and clean the covers of vents and exhaust fans.

  • Remove and clean stovetop exhaust filter, by soaking in appropriate degreaser product for 30 mins then rinse with boiling water.

  • If able to access the fan blades to clean then do so.

​

4) Refrigerator

  • Empty and defrost

  • Clean shelves, drawers and compartments inside with food safe cleaning product.

  • Wipe down the exterior, including the top with matching microfibre and products.

  • If able to move the refrigerator to clean behind and underneath ensuring the wall outlet is switched off prior, and turned back on before moving it back.

5) Oven and Stovetops

  • Clean the interior of the oven by presoaking with appropriate heavy oven cleaner.

  • After oven soaking, proceed with full wipe down, if heavy with grease binning all used cloths.

  • Option to use over scraper blade on stubborn grease being careful.

  • After wipe down apply stage 2 food safe oven cleaning product, and scrub down all interior surfaces.

  • Presoak the stovetop with stovetop degreaser or alternate cleaning product, in case of heavy grease or grime, using a non-scratch scourer to scrub all around.

  • Wipe down and clean again with fresh microfibre cloths and stage 2 stovetop cleaner.

  • Be sure to clean any removable parts.

  • Clean the rangehood including filters, fans and lights.

​

6) Microwaves

  • Clean the interior including the turntable with a diluted degreaser mixture.

  • Wipe down the exterior, prior dusting if necessary.

  • Apply glass cleaner and remove and streak marks left over.

​

7) Dishwasher

  • Clean the interior including the filter.

  • Wipe down the exterior with appropriate product.

  • Check and clean any seals.

​

8) Small Appliances

  • Clean any small appliances left behind such as toasters, kettles etc.

​

9) Cabinets and Drawers

  • Empty and wipe down inside and outside of all cabinets and drawers vacuuming when necessary.

  • Clean handle and knobs

​

10) Pantry

  • Empty and clean shelves and storage areas.

  • Double check for any spills, stains or crumbs

​

11) Sinks

  • Scrub the sink with a non scratch scourer or brush to remove stains and soap residue.

  • Clear any blockages in the drain if able to.

  • Wipe down sink with matching microfibre cloth to remove any streaks.

  • Clean and polish faucets and handles with matching product.

​

12) Countertops

  • Clean and disinfect all countertops.

  • Remove any stains, crumbs and grease.

​

13) Backsplashes

  • Prespray the backsplashes with degreaser, allow to lightly soak, then wipe down with matching microfibre cloths.

  • Final wipe down to remove any streaks

  • If backsplash has grout use grout brush to agitate prior to wipe down.

​

14) Tiles and Grout

  • Scrub tiles to remove any dirt and grease.

  • Clean and whiten grout lines prior to hot mopping.

​

15) Floor

  • Sweep then mop the floor with matching cleaner, ideally hot water if can.

  • Scrub grout lines if tiled.

  • Cleaning under or behind any movable appliances.

  • Microfibre mop wipe down to remove any clean streaks.

​

16) Windows

  • Clean windows inside and out with window cleaner and matching microfibre and squeegee setup.

  • Dust and clean window sills and tracks, vacuum where needed.

  • Clean any blinds or curtains.

​

17) Doors

  • Wipe down both sides of doors if any.

  • Clean door handles and fixtures.

​

18) Garbage Bins

  • Empty and clean inside any garbage bins.

  • Disinfect and deodorize.

​

19) Outlets and PowerPoints

  • Wipe down any outlets ensuring switched to the off position first to remove any fingerprints and grime.

​

20) Knobs and Handles

  • Clean all knobs and handles throughout the kitchen.

​

21) Sink area

  • Clean the area around the sink, including the splash guard and drain cover.

​

22) Air Freshener

  • Using a kitchen appropriate scent, apply to ensure kitchen smells fresh and clean.

Bedroom Cleaning  Checklist

1) Walls and Ceiling

  • Wipe down walls and ceiling to remove any dust, cobwebs, and marks.

  • Spot clean any stains or smudges
    ​

2) Light Fixtures and Ceiling Fans

  • Dust and clean all light fixtures.

  • Clean ceiling fan blades and ensure they are free from any dust or grime.

  • Notify client of any burn out lights.

​

3) Vents and Aircons

  • Clean the covers of vents and air conditioners.

  • Remove and clean any and all filters if possible.

​

4) Windows

  • Clean inside of windows with glass cleaner then wipe down with matching microfibre.

  • Vacuum window sills and tracks.

  • Wipe down window sills and tracks with old microfibre cloths.

  • Clean any blinds, shutters or curtains.

​

5) Doors

  • Wipe down both sides of the door to ensure no sitting dirt or dust.

  • Apply appropriate cleaner and wipe with matching microfibre cloth.

  • Clean both door handles with disinfectant and polish if needed.

​

6) Wardrobes and Closets

  • Wipe down inside and out of wardrobes and closets.

  • Clean handles and knobs.

  • Ensure any mirrors also get treatment.

​

7) Drawers and Shelves

  • Vacuum all drawers and shelves to remove bulk of dirt or dust.

  • Dust and wipe down all surfaces

​

8) Baseboards and Trims

  • Dust and clean baseboards and trims

  • Taking time to scrub and remove any scuffs or dirt.

​

9) Carpet

  • Vacuum thoroughly, paying extra attention to walkways, edges and corners.

  • Spot treatment for any stains or light soiling.

  • Steam clean if required taking time to work both directions of the carpet.

​

10) Hard Floors

  • Sweep and Vacuum hard floors.

  • Once dust and dirt is removed mop with hot water and matching floor cleaner.

  • Pay attention to grout lines if tiled.

  • If job required perform grout whitening treatment.

  • Polish final floor with matching polish.

​

11) Light Switches and Outlets​

  • Wipe down light switches and outlets to remove fingerprints or dirt.

​

12) Mirrors

  • Dust down any mirrors to get them ready for cleaning.

  • Apply glass cleaner product and clean down with matching clean microfibre cloth.

  • Wipe down with additional fresh microfibre cloth to remove any streaks or smudges.

​

13) Radiators or Heaters

  • Dust and clean radiators or heaters, paying special attention to behind and underneath.

​

14) Final Touches

  • Apply air freshener to ensure the bedroom smells fresh and clean

​

15) Steam Cleaning *on request

  • If bedrooms are carpeted usually there will be a requirement to get steam cleaning done.
